Product focus

GamIA brings language, geography and history into browser games for Georgian-speaking young people. The architecture connects game context to useful explanations while keeping model usage and score submissions under application control.

Engineering decisions

Validate before reuse

AI Explain calls Gemini 2.5 Flash through a server-side function. Input is constrained and output is checked for structure, Georgian text, length and difficulty labels before it can be returned or cached. Invalid responses produce a retryable error.

Control model usage

Cached explanations avoid repeated model calls for the same game and question. Request limits and a daily token-budget check constrain usage; provider retries are bounded and limited to server errors.

Keep checks on the server

Leaderboard submissions are checked for signed session tokens and game-specific score ceilings. These checks sit in Supabase edge functions, outside the browser’s control.

Test the player journey

Playwright exercises browser flows; Vitest covers application logic. This carries my QA background into the product’s release workflow.
